You probably have a nickname - please tell us the story behind it.
I don’t really have a nickname! My girlfriend calls me the one or the other, but I don’t want to get into too much detail here.

Do you remember your first day on a snowboard?
Christmas 1991. I got my first and last snowboard from my parents and started riding it straight out in our small garden that very night. The next day I built a wooden skate jump ramp and learned how to do Tailfish, Method and Crails to flat!

How did you learn new tricks back in the days?
I think I just tried out what I saw in the movies and mags! For sure, I did that step by step but sometimes it was frustrating not having a clue at all. Still I think it was a good way to do it like this. Who needs teachers?

Why have you never stopped snowboarding since then?
Because it was just way more fun than skiing. Year after year it became a bigger part of my life, my income and passion. I will stop getting paid for it one day but I’ll definitely never stop shredding!

You probably have visited a bunch of different ski resorts already. What’s your favourite place, what was the most exotic and where would you like to live and ride in the future?
My favourite place to ride is the Arlberg area because it’s got everything you could ask for. The most exotic were probably the volcanoes in New Zealand, Chile or Japan. I like living in Munich because I can reach a lot of good resorts in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland quite fast and I can also chill with my friends in the city.

You also must have seen tons of snowboard videos in the past. What’s your favourite video part and why do you remember it?
That’s probably still “Destroyer”. Gigi’s part in there was insane for that time, and the soundtrack was also super cool.

Let us know about your favourite trick! Do you have any specials in your trick bag?
That changes frequently but I like the easy style tricks better. I’m not into tens and twelves and that hyper-tech stuff!

What do you like most about Völkl Snowboards?
The whole team is super cool and we hang out together a lot. The surf camp in France was epic, and of course, the boards are sick and don’t break! It’s cool to be part of the team from the beginning and see the progress in full effect.

What about entertainment? Let us know about your gigabytes of MP3s and videos!
First of all I don’t download illegally! Yeah! I listen to pretty much everything, favourites change quickly. As for the movies I just watched “Shoot ‘em Up” the other day - sick movie!

How do you make your stomach happy? You must have some favourite drinks and food?
Everything from steaks to sushi, from Italian to Indian, from beer to mojito.

What was your best experience in life so far?
I don’t like that kind of question. There have been sooo many good experiences and I hope there are still a lot more to come. Just having a good day out snowboarding or surfing is already the best experience right there!

And finally, what is your biggest dream?
That’s still living at the ocean one day.

Keep it clean out there and have fun in life!
